Let us introduce ourselves

Stoker Studio is a photography and graphic design studio based in the picturesque town of Hartbeespoort in the North West Province of South Africa. Managed and owned by creative Vonmari Joubert. It was her passion for love and weddings that inspired the start of Stoker Studio Wedding Photography, a subdivision of Stoker Studio.

The studio was founded in 2012 and has since expanded to a four woman team.

The qualified professional photographers from Stoker Studio Wedding Photography aim to make your wedding memories last a lifetime. Our photographic style consist of traditional (posed), candid (spontaneous moments), photojournalistic (overview of event, venue, people) and artistic (different perspectives and creative elements) images – giving you a comprehensive set of images to remember your wedding day with.

Hartbeespoort based, Stoker Studio Wedding Photography is close to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Rustenburg, Krugersdorp, Randfontein and Magaliesburg. These cities and towns offer a variety of wedding venues, but nothing beat the thrill of getting in the car the day before your wedding, to travel to a remote location… Booking into the guesthouse and enjoying a destination wedding. Stoker Studio have photographed weddings in Louis Trichardt, Nelspruit, Jongensfontein (close to Mosselbaai), Tshipise, Tzaneen, Clarens and Reitz. We are looking forward to weddings in Roodepoort, Silverlakes, Muldersdrift, Brits, Hekpoort and Parys throughout the year.
Stoker Studio’s qualified professional photographers aim to make your wedding memories last a lifetime.

Vonmari obtained her bachelors degree in visual communication in 2010 at The Open Window School of Visual Communication. The three major subjects of her degree (Photography, Communication Design and Interactive Media Design) equipped the studio with different skill sets, which are utilise in their work.

As a photography student, you learn and develop the sense for the use of light, composition and subject matter. There is never a single way to portray the scene or subject you are photographing. Through different modules, the photography course focused on key aspects: architecture, product, portraiture, movement/speed, beauty/fashion, night/low light and corporate photography.

Combine these key areas of photography and you have described a single wedding day…
Architecture Photography
The reception hall, chapel, all interior and exterior scenes.
Product Photography
The detail of the day – shoes, garter, perfume, jewellery and table decorations.
Portraiture Photography
All human photography.
Movement/Speed Photography
Many unexpected actions take place on a wedding day – Walking down the aisle, throwing of the garter and bouquet.
Beauty/Fashion Photography
Used in the bridal preparations and the formal couple shoot.
Night/Low light Photography
How to use flash and available light in dark and dimly lit locations (like the chapel and reception hall).
Corporate Photography
The full scope of event photography and following the programme on the wedding day.

The above gave her the technical advantage of creating superior wedding images. The last key ingredient that ensures professional wedding images is the teams passion for capturing love. Wedding photography is their passion, to be a part of and to be witness to love is what drive Stoker Studio Wedding Photography to strive for perfection.

Our photographs capture the moments and unique experiences of the bridal pair. The wedding day and couple guide and inspire us to portray the love and detail that define them; the qualities that fill our pictures. We will strive to photograph everything on your wedding day to the best of our ability.

In order to meet your expectations, we will need a brief of what you want. In the creative world, a client will provide the studio with a set of guidelines of what the expected outcome should be. In wedding photography, it is just as crucial to understand my clients’ needs as in my other creative work. This will ensure a happy bride and groom as well as a happy photographer. Some couples might want a documentation of their day, without interruptions from the photographer – this will result in natural photographs, but it will not include those romantic artistic images that you would like to print an A0 canvas for the dinning wall. Other couples understand the effort and commitment needed from them to ensure “those perfect” wedding images and they will set aside time to obtain them. Getting married is more than just walking down the aisle. It is a public announcement to the world, your partner and God that you are joining yourself as one on a journey through life together.

Your wedding day takes planning, coordinating, and lots of decision making to create one amazing, superbly perfect day. And nothing will commemorate and capture every detail like professional wedding photography. It is therefore important that you like your wedding photographers style. These images will become heirlooms that can be passed down for generations to come.

It is our passion to capture every amazing, unforgettable moment from your wedding day. I strive to provide my clients with quality images that will be timeless. As this is a growing business, I constantly refine current offerings and possibilities to provide my clients with a top service. Here are a few things that should help guide you in your decisions:
>>> You receive high resolution files of your pictures, after I have spend time on each individual image to make sure that it is edited to its potential.
>>> I always shoot with a second photographer to ensure that we capture every moment and have at least two pairs of equipment; if one camera fail or a lens break – we can continue shooting as if nothing happened.
>>> When we leave the venue after the wedding, the memory cards stored away. In the unhappy event of a smash and grab, it will be my equipment and not your images that will be lost.
>>> Once at home the images are stored on two separate devices in different locations to protect your images from a failing hard drive or robbery.

We take caution and prepare for accidents, but in the unlikely event that all of our precautions fail the following terms will apply:

In the unlikely event that the assigned photographer from Stoker Studio is unable to perform to the guidelines of this contract due to an injury, illness, act of God, act of terrorism, or other cause beyond the control of Stoker Studio, I will make every effort to secure a replacement. If the situation should occur and a suitable replacement is not found, responsibility and liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the EVENT(S).

In the unlikely event that digital files have been lost, stolen, or destroyed for reasons beyond the Stoker Studio’s control, including but not limited to camera, hard drive, or equipment malfunction, Stoker Studio’s liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the EVENT(S). The limit of liability for a partial loss of originals shall be a prorated amount of the exposures lost based on the percentage of total number of originals. Stoker Studio is not liable for the loss of images beyond the lesser of the final delivery of all products included in the package.

To have our images displayed in your home is nothing less than an honour. We hope you find everything that you are looking for and more – with us!

About Me

This is me, Vonmari Joubert, a Hartbeespoort based Photographer and Creative Manager at Stoker Studio. I have a BA Visual Communication Degree from The Open Window School of Visual Communication that I completed in 2010. Since the start of my studies back in 2008 I’ve made it my mission to capture the most special moments of couples at weddings, documenting their favourite moments for eternity.

During my studies I specialised in Photography (a.k.a Making Memories of Moments by Capturing Light on a Light Sensitive Medium) and Communication Design (a.k.a Graphic/Layout Design) this is definitely a plus point when it comes to designing beautiful, top quality professional wedding albums!
