Shaun & Sylvia choose the very popular and trending nautical or sailor theme for their wedding at the Hartbeespoort at the Transvaal Yacht Club in December 2015. “This is our happy place” Sylvia exclaimed when I met them at the dam for their pre-wedding session. Shaun has a sailboat here and we love to visit on weekends, enjoy the tranquility and to sail. It was only natural for them to decide on the yacht club as their wedding venue as most of their precious memories were made and shared here. This meant they had to organise and be responsible for all the detail, tables and catering of the day. While daunting, Sylvia decided that this is the best way to do it. She added so much care into all the special detail and gave everything a nautical spin to reflect their passion for sailing. From the little boats, shells and fish on the napkin holders and wine glass identifiers to the boats, life saver and other props at the gift table – everything were nautical and beautiful!

We had so much fun at your wedding. Even when it rained cats and dogs and the wind almost blew us away I felt like a sailor in the middle of the ocean. What a perfect day for a nautical wedding. The perfect way to end it was with starlights and a lantern ceremony down at the docks.
