For myself and assistant photographer Arina this wedding day started with a drive on the farm to view the different locations Kelvin and Christie had in mind for their wedding images. The farm is absolutely beautiful with its lakes, mountains, citrus orchards and the building ruins on top of the hill. The farm is situated 5km from the Tshipise Resort (nearest town is Mussina) in Limpopo. Kelvin and PJ (Christie’s brother) thank you for showing us around.

While we where driving around the main house were a buss of activities as people were coming and going to turn the garden into a magical space for the evenings reception. Christie, her mother and bridesmaids were in the house busy with their hair and make-up for the wedding. We accompanied Kelvin to the nearby Tshipise resort where the guys got dressed. I would like to thank Kelvin’s dad for doing all of the ties – I do not know what they would have done without you :)

The joy, love and admiration that Christie’s parents have for her were clearly visible in their eyes while they watched and waited for their daughter to dress up for her wedding day. Christie you were so relaxed and it was a pleasure taking pictures of you. You have a lovely smile and a personality to match. Thank you for making us feel at home on the farm.

The ceremony was held at the chapel of the Tshipise Resort. Christie arrived in a v8 pink car and the emotions were tangible. Kelvin had tears when she walked down the aisle to meet him, she will be his bride now and forever.

One of the differences to their wedding day was when we stopped on the way back to the farm, in order for the Venda people to congratulate them with their wedding with a traditional dance and song.

The reception in the garden was beautiful with a star lit sky, fairy lights over the tables and lightbulbs holding flowers on the table. Laura, the siter of the bride, toasted her parents and shared some family fun and secrets of the children. The groom’s brother, Justin had the honour of doing the toast on his parents. With both of the speeches it become more and more apparent that both these families love each other and care greatly for their siblings. The father of the bride, Peter, instituted the toast on the bride and groom with some background on him and his wife, Lynette, while wishing the couple a blessed marriage.

I would like to thank all of the guests for being such great fun at the photobooth. I am in the process of establishong a facebook page where I will upload all of them for you to enjoy. (link will follow shortly)
